I decided to write this blog because I want to put focus on the client and their needs and what you can expect from me as we work together to attain the goals for your business. I am also hoping that this will be helpful to others who may need some direction and encouragement.
Whether it's a business or professional the transition phase is an adjustment period for all parties involved. But the process doesn't have to be painful. Here's how you can help.
Communication, Communication, Communication
Be clear and precise. This goes for both parties so that there is no room for error. Get all the pertinent information you will need to get the job done. Communication can be done over a phone call, email or video conference call. My preference is a video conference call because it puts the client at ease and is more personal. I am very big on communication so I have regular video conference calls every two weeks or so with clients.
Build Trust
Show that you can do the job you were hired to do. Take initiative. Completing assignments before they are due gives the client confidence that they made the right decision by hiring you and trust begins to grow.
In addition to all of the above, I send out welcome packages to the clients informing them that I am available to help them with the transition. It gives them a sense of security knowing that they have the support and guidance from the start of the business relationship. The key is getting the client to feel at ease. It shows that your focus is on them and their concerns.
